BiographyRandy White - Sheriff Candidate

My name is Randy White and I am asking for your support for Sheriff in the Republican Primary on May 4, 2010 and in the Monroe County General Election on August 5, 2010.

My family and I reside in Monroe county where I was born and raised. I graduated from Madisonville High School and have worked in the law enforcement field for over 23 years. I have held positions in law enforcement including patrol, investigations, narcotics, and supervisory roles. I have attended numerous schools and training programs including but not limited to:

Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy, Roane State Paramedic (State Licensed), Clandestine Drug Lab Investigation. A current listing of public service education is available at the right of the page.

With your support, I will provide effective leadership and new direction within the Sheriff’s Department. I plan to introduce budget restraint within the Sheriff’s Department in order to control the cost of law enforcement in Monroe County. My plan will be to provide for a higher level of efficiency that will enable us to increase the effectiveness of the Sheriff’s Department while controlling the cost of law enforcement.

I will make safe neighborhoods a priority, our neighborhoods must be safe for our children, senior citizens, and all who live here. Criminals who prey on our children and elderly will be dealt with swiftly with thorough investigation and follow through with the District Attorney’s office..

If you have lived and raised children in Monroe County, you know methamphetamine, other narcotics, and illegal use of prescription medications pose a serious threat to our community. You’ve seen the affect that this problem has had on victims and their families. My emphasis as Sheriff will be on those who provide these materials and distribute them to our children and infect our community, in order to protect our family unit from the damage that is inflicted on our communities by drug related crimes. I will increase our commitment to drug enforcement laws. Drug free is a good environment for family and business.

Your Sheriff must be visible, not only to you but to the criminal element. I will be tough, but fair and reasonable, in the enforcement of the laws. Criminals in Monroe County have taken a toll on our communities, I will be diligent in bringing crimes to successful prosecution which will remove these criminals from our communities. I will also be active in community awareness and education by providing education and informative lectures and presentations to civic, church groups and schools upon request. I believe that the family unit is the heart of our society. There are many families in Monroe County struggling with domestic violence and suffering due to fear or maybe not knowing their rights. This is a serious matter to me and it will be in my department. As your Sheriff my department will be visible in your neighborhoods, not to intimidate the lawful, but to keep the criminal element on notice. My commitment to Monroe County residents is to make safer neighborhoods where the family unit can thrive and mature. We will keep our roads and highways safe by keeping an adequate number of officers patrolling at all times. A citizen’s call for service will be handled in a timely and professional manner. Officers will be held accountable for their actions or inaction. With your help and support we will make Monroe County a safer place to live in and work for all citizens.

Good afternoon, I work in the codes department in Sweetwater and have had a call that one of your signs is blocking visibility when you come out onto New Hwy 68 from Frontier Road. Would you please move this sign so people can see cars coming over the hill. Thank you.
